Carlos Slim se colocó en el primer lugar de la lista de los hombres más ricos del mundo elaborada por la revista Forbes en su edición 2010, al acumular una fortuna de 53 mil 500 millones de dólares. El mexicano llegó por primera vez a ese sitio desplazando a William Gates III, fundador de Microsoft, quien se ubicó en el segundo lugar con una cuenta de 53 mil millones de dólares, seguido por Warren Buffet, uno de los mayores gestores de fondos de inversión en el mundo, poseedor de 47 mil millones. Una vez más la revista listó al narcotraficante Joaquín El Chapo Guzmán Loera, jefe del cártel de Sinaloa, quien a decir de la publicación posee mil millones de dólares, lo que le mereció el lugar número 937, que comparte con el empresario mexicano Alfredo Harp Helú, quien también es dueño de mil millones de dólares, y primo de Carlos Slim. En la lista de los hombres más ricos del mundo hay lugar para seis mexicanos más: Ricardo Salinas Pliego, Germán Larrea, Alberto Bailleres, Jerónimo Arango, Emilio Azcárraga y Roberto Hernández, quienes junto con Slim, Harp y Guzmán Loera acumulan una riqueza estimada en 90 mil 300 millones de dólares. About This CD/DVD: In the month of Ramadan of the year 899 [June 1494] and in the twelfth year of my age, I became ruler in the country of Ferghana. Thus begins the remarkable autobiography of Zahiruddin Muhammad Babur, whose journey of conquest through Afghanistan and Hindustan—the northern part of the Indian Subcontinent— laid the foundation of the Mughal Empire. Fusing cultural influences from Persia, Central Asia, and India, the Mughals created a brilliant intellectual and artistic efflorescence whose legacy remains strong today. In 1858 with the abdication of Emperor Bahadur II and the establishment of the British Raj, Afghanistan became a buffer zone between the Russian and British Empire. Following the rise of Soviet power in Central Asia in the 1920s, the once porous border between Central Asia and the Subcontinent hardened.
